Vaccinations and Malaria:
We do advice to check with you local heath services and/or doctor which requirement are needed for you as this can differ individually. General information for all destinations can be found at the CDC Travelers: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/
Malaria risk does depend on country and time of travel. Most areas in South Africa and Namibia are free of malaria during the cold winter Months. Better be safe than sorry!

Clothing:
In game parks and during game walks it is advisable to wear natural colours so as to blend in with the environment. White clothes are not recommend as they might attract or scare wildlife. At most camp sites clothes can be washed (by hand). Please note that it is advisable not to take military clothing like camouflage jackets. This could be penalized by local officials like police or military officers.

Books:
Reading guide books or studying field guids while on safari is recommended. During most safaris you will have time to read a book or a novel.

Money:
Additional excursions (not included in the trip) need to be paid in local currencies and/or US$. We advise to take cash US$ and Euro with you on safari. ATM cards can be used at ATM’s within Southern Africa, especially South Africa and Namibia. For Botswana it’s advisable to bring a VISA CARD with pin code as most other cards can not be used at ATM’s. Entry visa for Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi have to be paid in cash US$. Please check with your local visa office for more details on visa requirements. Countries like Zambia and Zimbabwe do charge a US$ 25 departure tax (to be paid cash on departure). We do advise all travelers to bring a mixture of currencies in cash on safari, ATM card(s) and a credit card (preferably VISA). Please contact us for more information on specific safaris and the additional money if needed.

Visa:
A valid passport is needed for travelling to Southern Africa. Make sure your passport does not expire within 6 Months after entering the country. Most nationalities will need a visa for entering  countries in Southern Africa. Visa for South Africa, Botswana and Namibia are supplied FOC at the border. Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe do supply visa at the border to be paid in cash US$ US$30-US$50. Rates for visa might change without notice. Visa for Mozambique should be obtained before departure to avoid delays at the border. Please check your visa requirements with your local embassy or visa office.
